Happy Wags Logo & Branding

I created the Happy Wags Pet Grooming logo & branding when it was first opened in 2018. When the business moved & the name was changed to Happy Wags Bone-afide Boarding & Grooming Facility, I created a new logo & updated the branding.

2018 Logo & Branding

In 2018, the client wanted colorful branding to legitimize their new small business. With the business name & color scheme decided, the client lead me through the imagery they wanted included in their logo. We decided that a cat and dog in a tub would showcase the services offered. I suggested we make the focal point the pets' wagging tails to emphasize the business name. The logotype I designed turns up at the corners like a smile referring to the name. Action lines around the ear of the "g" read as a wagging tail. The Client was excited to implement the final product.

2021 Logo & Branding

In 2021, Happy Wags moved to a new facility & added daycare & boarding to its roster of services. The client initially wanted the logo to be updated to emphasize the boarding service and to keep the same style and color scheme. These are some preliminary designs for the 2021 logo.

When reviewing the above options, the client decided to pivot directions with the branding. They decided that we should keep the imagery from the original logo, & emphasize the phrase "Bone-afide" (a pun on "bonafide" meaning genuine or real) by making the branding more upscale & muted. They also wanted the shape of a bone to be prevalent. I agreed that keeping part of the original logo would be beneficial to their brand's continuity & was excited by this new direction.

Finalizing the Logo & Brand

The Happy Wags client wanted their logo & branding updated to be more high-end but didn't want to lose what they loved about the 2018 logo. I made the branding more upscale by muting the colors & changing a typeface. Elements repeated from the 2018 logo were carefully refined. Here are the logo & branding details of the client's final choices.
